Lancaster County is known for our history and our nostalgic traditions so it’s no surprise that our small towns and rural villages are home to a wide array of vintage and antique markets – including the Antiques Capital of the country, Adamstown, PA. Best of all, many are located just minutes from us at Fulton Steamboat Inn! When planning your next getaway to Lancaster County, be sure to keep these destinations on your radar for finding fine antiques and unique collectibles.

Strasburg Antique Market

Located less than 5 miles from Fulton Steamboat Inn, Strasburg Antique Market is housed within a beautifully restored 1898 tobacco warehouse. The three-story structure is home to over 70 antique dealers offering a wide range of items including vintage collectibles, architectural salvage, furniture, and glassware. And as a neighbor of Strasburg Rail Road, the oldest continuously operating railroad in the country, you’ll also find a wonderful collection of vintage railroad memorabilia and antique toy trains.

Antiques Capital, Adamstown

Nestled in the heart of Amish Country, Adamstown has earned its name as the “Antiques Capital of the U.S.” Travel through the heart of this small town and you’ll find dozens of antique and specialty shops located along seven miles of Route 272. In addition to the year-round offerings, you’ll also want to mark your calendar for the town’s Antique Extravaganza, a special event held September 27 through October 1 when many dealers offer extended hours and special discounts.

 Cackleberry Farm

This sprawling antique mall features over 125 unique dealers specializing in fine antiques, collectibles, books, home furnishings, and vintage jewelry. The spacious atmosphere offers the comforts of a traditional retail store including an ADA-accessible first-floor layout, shopping carts, and even an on-site restaurant.

Building Character

Head to downtown Lancaster and you’ll find Building Character, a historic 10,000-square-foot warehouse that has been transformed into a unique marketplace for vintage, recycled, and handmade goods. Browse through handmade candles, upcycled vintage clothing, and a wide collection of antique stands each with their own unique character. And be sure to make a stop at the on-site Heritage Press Museum.
